Maintenance SpecialistSt. Charles, ILAvailable Shift2nd: 3:00pm - 11:00pm, Mon-FrCompensation IncludesPay Range $31.52 - $40.37/hour - based on experiencePlus $1.00 shift premium for 2nd & $1.50 shift premium for 3rdOverviewThe Maintenance Specialist position is responsible for consistently troubleshooting, identifying, and correcting machine related problems through proper adjustments to various parts of the machine. Provide innovative solutions for facility problems.ResponsibilitiesDiagnose mechanical and electrical problems associated with all manufacturing equipment. Directly responsible for installation and repair of all equipment concerned with plant operations, services, buildings including storage and inventory of spare partsUnderstands schematics, prints, and drawings for the installation and repair of equipment and facilityExamine equipment to diagnose troubleDisassembles, repairs, and tests facility machineryDemonstrates ability to start up plant (generator, air compressor, cooling tower, and chiller), normal plant shutdown, and emergency plant shut downReplaces faulty switches, sockets and other elements of electrical systemsRigging and liftingIntermediate machine shop skillsPerform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-outPerform carpentry, plumbing, painting and other facility related work as necessary depending on assigned projectsAssists electricians as neededCommunicates problems encountered through the shift with Plant Engineer/Shift SupervisorMaintains a clean and orderly work areaAll maintenance mechanics are expected to be available to work in all areas of forming productionPerform other duties as assignedQualifications5 years related experienceHigh degree of mechanical ability and aptitude with proven ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs on electrical and mechanical equipmentBasic computer skillsDemonstrated problem solving skillsPhysical Requirements/Environmental ConditionsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walkUses hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools and controlsThe employee frequently is required to talk and hear to communicate with crew membersRequired to climb, stoop, bend and reach with hands and armsThe employee is occasionally required to push or pull with hands or arms, kneel or crouchThe employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to distinguish shades and colorsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and effectively with little to no supervisionPositive work attitude and willingness to cooperateAbility to work in a team environmentThe noise level in the work environment is consistently above 85 decibelsAble to work with dust from paper converting processThe employee constantly works near moving mechanical parts and lift trucksThe employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or vapors or hazardous products such as degreasers and silicone spraysAmbient temp and humidity may be elevated during the summer months
