Mediation, Negotiation, and Agreement Drafting | Fully Virtual

Ahmed Law & Mediation is a growing matrimonial practice seeking an associate attorney whose strengths lie in mediation, negotiation, and precise legal drafting. We help clients resolve deeply personal matters with care, sound judgment, and close attention to their financial and parenting circumstances.

We are looking for a trained mediator with superior drafting skills who can turn complex negotiations into clear, workable agreements. The associate will work closely with the firm’s principal and will likely shadow her in mediations and negotiations. Some matters may require limited litigation work, including one or two court appearances. Courtroom litigation is not the focus of this position.

• Draft and revise complex settlement, separation, prenuptial, and postnuptial agreements, including nuanced financial and custody provisions.
• Support and participate in mediations and settlement negotiations alongside the principal.
• Analyze financial information, identify unresolved issues, and translate negotiated terms into thorough, practical agreements.
• Communicate with clients in a polished, empathetic manner during sensitive and often stressful transitions.
• Manage matters and electronic files independently while collaborating closely with the team.
• Handle occasional court appearances and related litigation tasks when a matter requires them.

• Admission to practice law in New York.
• Matrimonial law experience, including work with financial and custody issues.
• Formal mediation training and a genuine commitment to resolving matters outside court when possible.
• Exceptional legal drafting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work through complex or unusual terms.
• Sound judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and sensitivity to clients’ circumstances.
• Litigation experience sufficient to manage occasional appearances.
• Comfort working in a fully virtual practice and using cloud-based case management and drafting tools.
• Collaborative law training is a plus.
